Many a golfer have dreamed of playing at Leopard Creek, but only a fortunate few have had the pleasure to do so. The Gary Player designed course, built adjacent to the Kruger National Park in South Africa, presents one of the most exclusive golf experiences that the game has to offer. Kevin Clarence, long-time member at Leopard Creek and co-founder of Memories of Africa, will be present to host you at this prestigious golf course.
Innovative architectural and landscaping techniques ensure that the Leopard Creek golf course and living areas are naturally protected from animals, while lakes and small streams have been diverted through the development to create scenic vistas and interesting golf strategies.
Golfing hazards take on a new dimension at Leopard Creek, for much of the water is home to the magnificent creatures for which the river is named, crocodiles. Extensive use has been made of water features and sightings of crocodile, hippo, antelope, buffalo and elephant are commonplace on the course or in the Kruger Park bordering the course.
The 505 meter par-five 13th is one of Leopard Creek’s most memorable holes. Here the green is right on the edge of the Crocodile river but 32 meters above the level of the water, offering magnificent views up the river and into the Kruger Park.
Gary Player CC
Golfing addicts will be in their element on the Gary Player Golf Course at Sun City. The birth of the Sun City Resort called for South African golfing legend, Gary Player, to design a golf course that would fit in with the superlative venue.
The walking-only championship course, is regularly ranked as one of the leading golf courses in South Africa and amongst the most prestigious throughout the African continent.
Famous for their slick putting surfaces, this course a true test for any golfer, with strategically placed bunkers lining the holes as they weave through the bush. 8000 yards of golfing pleasure await each player with mesmerising views at every turn.
Built in an extinct volcanic crater, this immaculate golfing paradise conforms to the stringent US PGA specifications and is home to the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge which features some of the world’s leading golf superstars.

Situated on Gary Player’s original farm, Blair Atholl Golf and Equestrian Estate is a natural oasis just a short distance from Johannesburg. With the Crocodile River running through the middle of this lushly treed estate, Blair Atholl offers thousands of acres of common open ground where children can play and adults can enjoy the natural surrounds.
Explore the extensive nature parks within the estate and spot the small game that has been introduced. Stand just north of the stone-clad clubhouse looking through a screen of indigenous bush and you could be at an exclusive bush lodge. Visit the renowned halfway house reached via its wooden walkways, and admire the views of the Crocodile River, framed by mountains and meadows, it’s hard to believe you’re only a heart-beat away from the city.
The Gary Player signature course is the third longest course in the world, when playing off the back tees, and it takes in all the different features and moods of the estate. Designed in a loop, the course is both challenging and rewarding, perfect for scratch players to test their mettle, yet still an enjoyable round for handicapped golfers. The course is long and the Club expects a round of golf to take 5 hours.
The Lost City
Another iconic course design from Mr Gary Player, The Lost City is the second course within the Sun City resort (alongside Gary Player CC).
Situated in the valley beneath The Palace Hotel, enjoy spectacular panoramic views and keep a look out for Africa’s Big 5 in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve neighboring the course. Be sure to also keep an eye out for the crocodiles that reside in the enclosure adjacent to the 13th green!
On the course, one can look forward to a unique and thoroughly enjoyable golfing challenge – with meandering waste bunkers lining the fairways and many a water hazard coming into play on this immaculately maintained course.
Off the course, a special hospitality experience awaits – with drinks and delicious meals served in what must surely be one of the most picturesque clubhouses in world golf.
